Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental stands as one of Abu Dhabi’s most celebrated hospitality destinations, set along a pristine private beach and recognized with both Michelin Keys and the Forbes Five-Star distinction. Blending Arabian grandeur with contemporary refinement, the property has become an enduring symbol of luxury within the UAE. Working closely with Champalimaud Design, Vann-FID developed “Fortitude,” the bespoke guestroom art concept inspired by the resilience, heritage, and cultural identity of the Emirates. The scope included the design, production, and supply of more than 500 bespoke artworks, translating references drawn from desert landscapes, architectural motifs, traditional craftsmanship, and the spirit of Abu Dhabi into a contemporary visual language rooted in place. For the hotel’s dining destinations designed by Silverfox Studios, Vann-FID designed, engineered, and supplied 133 bespoke decorative lighting fixtures, each tailored to the character of its venue. Broadway, recognized with both the LIV Hospitality Design Award and the BLT Built Design Award for its interior design, drew inspiration from a European brasserie set within a retrofitted New York warehouse, with the lighting balancing industrial expression and the grandeur of the Palace. At Lebanese Terrace, the lighting enhanced the warmth and intimacy of a contemporary Levantine setting, inspired by olive groves, stained-glass details, and the generosity of traditional Lebanese hospitality.
