The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Resort & Marina was reimagined by Stickman Tribe as the residence of a fictional collector, with its ten-story central atrium conceived as a dramatic conservatory. Recognized with the LIV Hospitality Design Award 2021 for Luxury Hotel Interior Design, the project combines storytelling, architecture, and craftsmanship to create a distinctive hospitality experience. Working closely with Stickman Tribe, Vann-FID designed, engineered, and delivered a bespoke Light-Art installation extending nearly 38 meters through the full height of the atrium. Inspired by birds moving through a garden during rainfall, the composition culminates in an 8.2-metre-wide sculptural chandelier formed from illuminated glass droplets and birds captured in different stages of flight. Bespoke nests, bird sculptures, and illuminated elements were integrated along the central suspension structure at successive levels, transforming a structural necessity into a continuous artistic narrative experienced throughout the ten-story atrium. Conceived as the visual centerpiece of the hotel, the installation creates a sense of movement and discovery as guests experience it from different vantage points throughout the atrium. More than a decorative feature, it unites architecture, light, and storytelling into a single sculptural composition, reinforcing the fictional narrative that defines the hotel’s interior identity.
