25hours Hotel Dubai One Central introduced a distinctly unconventional hospitality concept to Dubai, with interiors by Woods Bagot bringing together eclectic references, natural materials and an intentionally playful approach to design. The decorative lighting was developed as part of this layered interior language, moving away from conventional hotel lighting towards pieces with a more individual, crafted character. Working closely with Woods Bagot, Vann-FID undertook the design development, engineering and prototyping of the bespoke decorative lighting for the mock-up guestrooms and corridors. The collection combined woven textures and natural materials with exposed cables, dark metal detailing and contemporary forms, creating a balance between craft, industrial character and the relaxed personality of the 25hours brand. Different fittings were developed for the corridors, bathrooms, bedside areas and guestrooms, each responding to its particular setting while maintaining a consistent design language. The completed prototypes demonstrate Vann-FID’s ability to translate a strong interior concept into bespoke hospitality lighting, resolving material, proportion, illumination and technical detailing through close designer collaboration and physical prototyping.
