Grand Hyatt Dubai Conference & Exhibition Centre is a major events destination offering 5,000 sqm of flexible space with capacity for up to 4,000 guests. Vann-FID provided art consultancy, artwork supply and bespoke Light-Art, developing a programmememe inspired by Dubai’s architecture, landscape and cultural identity. For the VIP Majlis, an Arabic calligraphy artist was commissioned to interpret “Fakhr Al Ajyal,” a poem by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, as a 2.25-metre circular composition inspired by spiral arrangements found in Islamic architecture. The calligraphy was translated into fret-cut metal, with bespoke wallpaper developed for the surrounding walls. A monumental Crystal Waterfall, approximately 9 metres across and over 11 metres high, creates a defining feature beside the main escalators. Composed of 1,407 suspended Bohemian crystal elements with integrated light, it faces a mirrored wall that visually doubles the installation, amplifying scale, depth and movement while bringing a strong sense of place to the centre.
