Mandarin Oriental Downtown

Dubai, UAE

Mandarin Oriental Downtown Dubai occupies a prominent position within Wasl Tower, the sculptural mixed-use landmark on Sheikh Zayed Road designed by UNStudio. Defined by its twisting form and ceramic façade, the tower has established a distinctive presence within Dubai’s evolving skyline.

Working closely with the client, hotel operator and interior design teams, Vann-FID provided art consultancy, artwork supply and bespoke decorative lighting for the hotel. The scope included 3,172 artworks, sculptures and decorative objects across guestrooms and public areas, alongside 211 bespoke decorative lighting fixtures developed for the shared spaces.

As Vann-FID’s fourth collaboration with the Mandarin Oriental brand, the project reflects our integrated approach to Light & Art. The project received industry recognition, with “The Road to the Future” shortlisted for Best Use of Art in Interior Design at the CID Awards 2026: MENA and Best Use of Art in a Hotel Project at the CID Hospitality Awards, while LW Design Group received Best Bar/Lounge Design for Yù & Mì.
