Mandarin Oriental Muscat is a luxury beachfront hotel in Shatti Al-Qurum overlooking the Arabian Sea. The property combines contemporary elegance with Omani cultural influences across guestrooms, restaurants, spa facilities and public areas. Designed by Xavier Cartron, the project was recognised with the LIV Hospitality Design Award for Architectural Design – Middle East. Working with the design team and project contractor, Vann-FID was responsible for the design development, engineering and supply of 3,525 custom-made decorative lighting fixtures throughout the property. Bespoke metal fretwork and handcrafted details drew from Omani art and architecture, supporting a strong sense of place within the interiors. Following a competitive design selection process, Vann-FID was commissioned to design and deliver the Ballroom and Spa chandeliers. Inspired by the sculptural form of the frankincense tree and the crystal waters of Oman’s wadis, the installations combine cultural narrative, sculptural expression and technical precision as integral Light-Art features within the hotel.
